By a series of coincidences John found the means to buy some land in a suitable location on the island of St. Thomas in the Caribbean Sea where he could build his new labaratory.

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. The laboratory of the the Communications Research Institute Here the conditons for human/dolphin co- existance were created.		The pool is a sea-fed, sea water pool fed by the waves-- brought in through a wave-ramp, flooding the balcony of the lab to a depth of 18 inches.		Below the balcony is the main dolphin living space.
